Beyond a profile

Chemistry is more than a photograph.

Physical attraction matters. So do the interpersonal differences that can make an exciting match feel confusing, draining, or unfair to both people. Emberside adds useful context before either person invests too much.

01

Keep attraction in the picture

Photos and profiles still matter. A constellation adds the part a photo cannot: how the people involved may experience one another.

02

See ease and friction

Explore communication, rhythms, priorities, closeness, and relationship capacity—not just a single opaque percentage.

03

Use insight, not a verdict

A map does not decide whether a relationship will work. It shows where curiosity, clarity, or an honest boundary may matter.

Know yourself before the match

A better profile starts before the blank page.

Most dating apps ask people to describe themselves before helping them understand what they need, how they connect, or what makes a relationship feel sustainable. That is difficult even for a confident writer.

Emberside offers playful, thoughtful quizzes that turn reflection into rich personal insights. Those insights help members build a concrete profile in their own voice—and give the compatibility map something meaningful to work with.

01

Fun to explore

Short experiences make self-reflection approachable rather than clinical.

02

Useful on your own

Insights belong to the member and remain valuable even before they meet anyone.

03

Better raw material

Answers support richer profiles and become the stars in compatibility maps.

Compatibility you can see

Every person.
One shared map.

Each participant’s answers form a constellation across the dimensions that shape a relationship. Overlay the constellations for a pair or group and a pattern appears: where life may feel naturally aligned, and where expectations may pull apart.

It is a conversation guide, not a prediction of relationship success.

How the map works

One apparent star
Two or more responses land very close together on this dimension. Their proximity suggests alignment.
Separated stars
Each star belongs to a participant. Greater distance shows more difference—not that either answer is wrong.
Stellar colour
A star's temperature is represented by its colour: white, blue-white, yellow, orange, red or violet. Star spacing contrasts differences but color temperature highlight possible synergies from those differences.
Core + satellite
The central shape summarizes relationship capacity. A separate satellite flags universal safety boundaries that are never traded against strengths.

Strong alignment

When two silhouettes become almost one.

Shared stars reveal broad common ground. The remaining split points still give the pair something useful to discuss.

Camille and Lucas constellation with almost completely overlapping silhouettes

Strong match99% aligned

Camille & Lucas

Almost one silhouette, with a small difference around autonomy and togetherness.

Nora and Daniel constellation showing broad strong alignment

Strong match96.9% aligned

Nora & Daniel

Broad common ground, including affection, intimacy, and emotional closeness.

Rowan and Lucas constellation showing strong alignment and one planning difference

Strong match94.1% aligned

Rowan & Lucas

Many shared points, with planning and spontaneity worth a closer conversation.

More differences

When attraction may meet real friction.

Separated outlines make potential interpersonal strain visible. That is not a judgment of either person—it is context for this particular pair.

Eli and Sofia constellation with several widely separated points

Difficult fit38% aligned

Eli & Sofia

Some intimacy alignment remains, while social rhythm and relationship capacity pull apart.

Aisha and Camille constellation showing a mix of shared and separated points

Difficult fit50.8% aligned

Aisha & Camille

Emotional closeness is shared, but different social rhythms may create recurring friction.

Rowan and Marcus constellation interrupted by a universal safety boundary

Safety boundaryNot tradeable

Rowan & Marcus

Visible strengths do not outweigh a universal safety conflict. The comparison stops here.

Deliberately finite

Built to help you choose—not to sell you another swipe.

Emberside is optimized for attraction and compatibility, not time spent inside an infinite deck. You receive a small, curated set of promising introductions with enough context to consider each person properly.

  • 01
    A handful, not a mountain

A finite set makes attention possible and comparison less disposable.

  • 02
    Desirability with dimension

Choose with photos, personality, preferences, and compatibility in view.

  • 03
    A natural stopping point

When you have considered today’s introductions, discovery is done for now.

Gender + orientation + relationship shape

Who you want—and what you want together—come first.

Emberside treats gender identity, sexual orientation, and desired relationship shape as distinct, first-class parts of eligibility—not optional filters. A beautiful introduction is not a promising match when the people want fundamentally different relationships.

01

Relationship shape is foundational

People seeking monogamy meet people seeking monogamy. People seeking polyamory or other consensual non-monogamy meet people whose stated relationship structure is compatible.

02

Gender and orientation direct eligibility

Gender identity and sexual orientation are not the same thing. Trans women are women; trans men are men. Trans and nonbinary members can state who they are and who they want to meet without being placed in a separate category—a trans person may be straight, gay, lesbian, bi, pan, queer, asexual, or use another orientation.

03

Nuance stays member-controlled

Names, pronouns, identity, attraction, boundaries, partner involvement, and openness can be expressed directly—and updated as life changes.

More social than a dating app

Connection does not begin and end with a match.

Emberside is designed more like a thoughtful social network: a place to follow people, share ideas, learn in public, and find communities—not just wait inside a match queue.

01

Personal feeds + followers

Share updates and follow people whose perspective matters to you. Followers are not matches, and matching remains mutual and separate.

02

Posts with room to think

Write blog posts, reflections, and stories that reveal more than a stack of profile prompts ever could.

03

Volunteer-run communities

Gather around identities, relationship shapes, local interests, skills, and lived experience with human community leadership.

From signal to conversation

A clearer path from curiosity to connection.

Emberside is designed to support more intentional choices, while leaving room for people to surprise each other.

  1. 1

    Discover your patterns

Take approachable quizzes that turn reflection into useful personal insight.

  2. 2

    Build a profile with substance

Use what you learn to describe yourself clearly, even when the words do not come easily.

  3. 3

    Consider a curated set

See a few promising people with attraction and compatibility side by side.

  4. 4

    Explore the connection together

Use shared insights as prompts for honest, human conversation.

Worth talking about

You recharge differently.

One of you tends to seek quiet after a busy week, while the other reconnects through shared activity.

More than a match

A private place to find out what the map can’t know.

Compatibility creates a better opening. Conversation reveals the person. Emberside is building rich chat for the thoughtful, playful, vulnerable exchange that happens after two people choose each other.

Expressive conversation

Text, private photo sharing, replies, reactions, typing cues, and shared compatibility prompts.
